STUDIO SPOCK: My Cat's view on portraits. Or the opposite.
I remember the day when Mr Spock became my friend. Not the fictional character from the 60's Tv sci-fi, but a cat as real as claws. Since then, I feed him croquettes, he provides entertainment and wisedom. One of his more fascinating tricks may be holding a mirror where I can observe my animality, our animality? Who knows? Not me, I'm just a cat who takes photographs.
I'm used to make images of humans. I know my way around the studio and the lights. So I wanted to use the same strategies to capture the singularity of each furry subjects of this project. To create pop and funny images, as they are, because I wanted everyone to find their friend there.

Je me souviens du jour où Mr Spock est devenu mon ami. Pas le personnage fictionnel de science fiction, mais un chat aussi réel que ses griffes. Depuis, je lui donne des croquettes, il prodigue divertissements et sagesse. Un de ses tours les plus fascinants est peut être de tenir un miroir où je peux observer mon animalité, notre animalité? Qui sait? Pas moi, je ne suis qu'un chat qui prend des photos.
J'ai l'habitude de photographier l'humain. Je connais mon affaire en studio et l'usage des lumières. Donc, je voulais utiliser les mêmes stratégies pour capturer la singularité de chacun de ces sujets à fourrure pour ce projet. Créer des images pop et amusantes, telles qu'ils le sont, car je voulais que tout le monde y retrouve son ami.
