It has been extremely quiet on this blog for some years. But I’m still alive and kicking, of course. Photographs remain an important part of my life, yet most of my ordinary time on earth has been allocated to a broader range of images. In particular, I have returned to the kind that originally drew me to photography some 25 years ago: the moving ones. For the last (almost) four years my mind has been absorbed by paintings and art history. A significant portion of that attention has been devoted to Nicolas Poussin. From there, and by a link that may be obvious only to those who have already explored these subjects, I willingly drifted toward one of the painters most admired by photographers (and by much of humanity, if I am to be fair): Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, “the man who came into the world to destroy painting.” More Informations will follow.
